Panasonic toughpads Fz g1- A 21st-century device

Panasonic has been a leading manufacturer of rugged laptops and toughpads for 20 years in Toughbook and toughpad devices. The Toughpad FZ-G1 is the company’s fully rugged Windows toughpad.

Construction and design

The Panasonic toughpads fz g1 is IP65, and MIL-STD-810G certified to ensure durability. IP Code Evaluation is an internationally recognized certification that evaluates how well a device is insulated from solids and liquids. MIL-STD-810G is a U.S. military extensive test and durability standard. This is the latest version. MIL-STD-810G is a document with over 800 pages detailing how the equipment can withstand various environmental durability tests, including 4-foot drops, shocks, vibrations, and rain. Dust, sand, altitude, freezing/thawing, high/low temperature, thermal shock, humidity, explosive atmosphere.

Display

The Panasonic FZ-G1 toughpad has a 10.1-inch LED-backlit IPS HD display with a native resolution of 1920 x 1200. The capacitive touch screen supports a 10-point touch function, and there is also a digitizer pen with a click function button.

The stylus is very sensitive in testing, and when you move about 1 cm on the screen, you will see reflective dots on the screen. In testing, the pen’s accuracy seemed to be affected by the angle held when orienting the screen.

The pen doesn’t affect left-handed people, and right-handed people can flip the toughpad over if it’s annoying.

Speakers

The Panasonic toughpads fz g1 has one speaker on the back of the device, loud enough to hear beeps to confirm button clicks in a custom app. From a musical point of view, say “thank you” for headphones and Bluetooth. Loudspeakers work as expected, given that their initial engineering priorities are dustproof, liquid-proof, and indestructible.

Ports and Inputs

The “traditional” ports on the Panasonic FZ-G1 toughpad are a single USB 3.0 port, HDMI output, and a 1 / 8-inch headphone/microphone combo jack. All three ports are in the same recessed area behind a very sturdy port cover along the device’s lower right edge. You must close the port cover and then twist to access it. The port cover interior is lined with closed-cell foam, and the port is surrounded by a single piece of polished black plastic. When closed, the two materials are pressed together to provide a dustproof and waterproof seal.

The DC power port is built into the guard in the lower-left corner. The power port also has a hinged cover with a screw-in double-edged rubber grommet that inserts into the hole in the DC port to seal.

Camera

From the perspective of people working in places, security, and confidentiality are mission-critical. The Panasonic toughpads fz g1 can be ordered with the front and rear cameras completely removed. This is better than a little tweaking of the camera, which some government IT agencies are rumored to have relied on in the past.

Performance

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 scored very high on the benchmark. In the PCMark 8 Home test, he scored 2905 with a PCMark 8 Work score of 3854. These results are excellent—newer and equivalent GPU. In the graphics arena, Panasonic once again proves that this is a dedicated business device. There is no option to upgrade the GPU from anything other than Intel’s integrated unit. Mechanical hard drives are a common bottleneck for lowering the device’s benchmark score.
