  • Design & Build Quality

The Panasonic Toughbook FZ-G1 isn’t coming to win any beauty contests neither it is interested in entering them. The 10.1-inch big and high-resolution screen is surrounded by a thick silver bezel, by doing this they made it more appealing in looks. It is also wrapped up in a thinner, rubbery edge to grip and absorb the impact if it accidentally drops. The screen is also set slightly within the frame to protect it from the drop too.

They made its design a million times better than other sleek curves of other tablets. It is satisfyingly bulky. It is 1.1kg but its thick appearance feels lighter than it looks. 0.8inch of thickness feels more like a laptop than a tablet. In spite of having a heavier appearance, it is only slightly heavier than an 11inch MacBook Air. So we can definitely say Panasonic has done a great job designing it.

Where other companies are doing their best to hide the ugly machines for a smooth aesthetic, Panasonic on the other hand likes to show off its bolts and nuts like a badge of honor. There are 27 exposed screws on the shiny and metallic backplate which suit its rough and tough aesthetic gracefully.

The most uncommon thing is, it’s waterproof face buttons. While other devices like to keep their most of the functions on the screen, the PANASONIC TOUGHBOOK FZ-G1 has seven circular buttons below it. Counting from the left to right they have their default functions like A1(Panasonic dashboard),  A2(Touch keyboard),  Volume down, Volume up, Windows start, Screen Rotate on/off and last but not the least Power on button.

  • Display

It has 10.1 inch LED backlit IPS HD display with native 1920×1200 resolution. It also supports 10points touch functionality. The best part about the display is, it has a glove mode. So you can use it wearing gloves as well.

  • Speakers

It has a single speaker on the backside. And trust me it is loud.  The speaker is also dust proof, liquid proof and indestructible.

  • Inputs & Ports

The normal traditional ports are a single USB 3.0 port, HDMI output and a combo headphone/mic 1/8inch jack. Behind it there is also a solid port cover to protect it.

  • Camera

It comes with a 8MP camera with an LED flash in back. It is more of a tablet-based camera.

  • Battery

There are two batteries available for this tablet.

1. The stock battery – 4400mAh,

2. The extended life battery- 9300 mAh
